Vision

St. Oswald’s Church of England Primary School.

At St. Oswald's we pride ourselves on being a friendly, caring and nurturing school where all are valued as God's children.  Our children's well-being is at the heart of all we do, both in the curriculum and in the out of hours provision that we offer.  The values of the Christian Faith underpin the ethos of ours school and provide our pupils with a secure sense of belonging.  We have a strong St. Oswald's community where all valued as unique individuals with their own strengths and interests.  Our dedicated and committed staff team, strive to provide the best possible opportunities for all our pupils in school and beyond.

Be it known to all who enter here,

that Christ is the reason for this school.

The unseen but ever-present teacher in its classes.

The model for all its staff.

The inspiration for its pupils.

St. Oswald’s Vision

Our vision statement:

Through valuing all individuals as children of God we believe in promoting an inclusive school community, rooted in mutual respect, understanding and kindness towards others. As God taught us:

'Teach children how they should live, and they will remember it all their life.' (Proverbs 22:6)

Our school’s vision is to nurture a resilient community where the love of learning thrives. We foster an environment where every member feels supported in order to flourish, be empowered to overcome challenges, embrace growth and contribute positively to God’s world.

' Life in all its fullness' (John 10:10)

St. Oswald's Values

Our chosen Christian values support us in achieving our overall vison for our school. We have chosen 8 core Christian values with an aim of showing children the way to develop into resilient, caring members of the community.  These Values are shared with children on a regular basis, and reinforced through our teaching. Most of these Values can be said to be ‘human Values’ and inclusive for people with different or diverse faiths, and also for those with no faith. As a Church of England school, however, we have rooted these Values in the Bible. We have established 9 Values that are particularly important to members of our school family. Please click on the tabs below for more information about each of the Values. Each page provides a small explanation about the Value, and a linked Bible story that illustrates the Value well and is particularly memorable for the children.
