Welcome to St. Oswald’s C of E Primary School. Thank you for choosing our School for your child. We are aware of the huge step starting school can be for you and we are determined to provide the very best educational opportunities and learning environment for the children in our care.

At St. Oswald’s, we believe that when a child feels happy, safe, challenged and loved, they will be willing to challenge themselves, take risks and be confident to ask questions about the world. We want our pupils to learn to ask questions and to develop into confident and capable young people, well prepared for the exciting challenges and opportunities ahead in the next stage of their education.

The School Day

7.45am – Breakfast club is available for all children from Nursery to Year 6.

8.30am – TT Rock Stars starts - Year 4.

Nursery opens – please enter across the junior yard.

8.45am – Registration time. Staff open the doors and welcome the children on both junior and infant playgrounds for all classes from Reception to Year 6 and start the day. Children go straight into class where their teacher is waiting for them with their morning task.

Monday - Thursday

8.45am -10.10am - Maths

10.10am- 10.30am - Collective Worship

10.30am - Play time for KS1 & 2

10:45am - English

11.30am – Morning Nursery closes – Lunchtime for those staying all day.

12.00pm -1.00pm – KS1 Lunch and playtime activities

12.10pm - 1.10pm – KS2 Lunch and playtime activities

12.15pm – Afternoon Nursery opens.

12.30 pm - Theme learning / Enquiry learning EYFS

1.00pm – Foundation subjects for KS1

1.10pm – Foundation subjects for KS2
