What did the ladybird hear? W/E 7.10.16

Class: Nursery Year: 2016 - 17

This week we have been reading the story 'What the Ladybird Heard' by Julia Donaldson.  We loved finding out how the ladybird worked with the farm animals to trick the criminals Hefty Hugh and Lanky Len, after hearing their plan to steal the farmer's fine prize cow.  We used puppets to retell the story, created our own cow sheds to protect the cow, made a muddy duck pond to splash in, made dough ladybirds and created maps to find our way to the cow shed.  This story also linked into some children's interest of police officers and they enjoyed turning the bikes and scooters into police cars.   What good fun!
