Welcome to St. Oswald's CE Primary School.

Thank you for visiting St. Oswald's CE Primary school website.  We are a friendly, caring and nurturing school where all are valued.  The children are at the heart of all we deliver through the curriculum we teach, the after school clubs we offer and the wider opportunities we make available.

Be it known to all who enter here,

that Christ is the reason for this school.

The unseen but ever present teacher in its classes.

The model for all its staff.

The inspiration for its pupils.

The Ethos of our School

At St. Oswald’s, we pride ourselves on being a friendly, caring and nurturing school, where all are valued. The values of the Christian Faith underpin the ethos of the school and provide our pupils with a secure sense of belonging. We have a dedicated and committed staff team who strive to provide the best possible opportunities for all of our pupils.

St. Oswald's Vision

Our vision for all members of our community stems from:

' Life in all its fullness' (John 10:10)

and:

''Teach children how they should live and they will remember it all their life.' (Proverbs 22:6)

Through basing our vision on the bible teachings above we will promote an inclusive school community, rooted in mutual respect, understandingand kindness towards others. We will develop resilience and a love of learning, which will enable children to achieve their aspiractions.

Our core Christian values are Community, Service, Justice, Creation, Friendship, Thankfulness, Peace, Hope and Perseverance.

As you explore the pages we hope they will give you a taste of our school and its community.

St. Oswald's is a one form entry primary school with a nursery class.  We are very proud of our two mini buses which enable us to take whole classes into the wider community and beyond, participate in a range of visits, sporting and cultural events (both locally and nationally!)  A visit to our Awards section in Key Information will illustrate the outstanding achievement which has taken place in our school, this includes Awards for Outstanding International links, Arts Mark, School Games Gold, 360 award for internet safety and the NAACE mark for committment to IT and computing to name a few!

We have a varied education programme in and out of school, the Curriculum delivered to each class can be found on the class pages.

Of course exploring the website is not the same as touring the school and we hope that after visiting our website that interested parents will be tempted to come and see St. Oswald’s for themselves.  Please do make an appointment to view the school and meet our welcoming and staff.

I hope you have found the information available useful, if there is anything else you would like to ask please email using the 'contact details' section. Thank you.

On behalf of the Governors, staff and myself, I am pleased to welcome you to St Oswald's CE Primary School.

Miss E. Murtagh (Headteacher)  B.Ed.,(Hons) NPQH, MA.
