Dear Zoo

Class: Nursery Year: 2018 - 2019

The children loved our story focus 'Dear Zoo' and were very good at joining in and retelling the story.  We retold it in different ways - using small world animals, being the animals from the story and reading the story in our book corner.  We then had to help the zoo keeper find the missing animals.  We hunted around the garden and once we had found the missing animals we boxed them up and wrote their names on ready to send back to the zoo.  Luckily we remembered to put some food in with the animals so they didn't go hungry!  We didn't think it would be a good idea to put the lion in with the other animals so one child decided to make a cage for the lion.

Finally we created our own 'Dear Zoo' story with different animals and we had to think of problems for each animal to send them back.
