Brake’s Walk to School Week
Brake’s Walk to School Week
This week is Brake’s Walk to School Week. Walking to school is beneficial for all children. It
is a good form of exercise, it’s a great time to have a conversation and it helps to keep the
roads around our school free from harmful traffic and air pollution.
To encourage the children to walk more regularly, we will continue to log our walk to school
journeys and earn the monthly badges. On Friday 24th June, Years 1 to 6 will also go for a
short walk around the community and to the Marian Park to raise the children’s awareness of
road safety and to encourage and inspire them to walk more often.
Although, we appreciate that not all families can walk to school every day, consider walking
home some afternoons or parking a little further way from the school gates and walking. A
five or ten minute, stroll from the car can be equally beneficial.
