Learning from Home:

Well done to all of you who have been practising your skills on TT Rockstars, IXL and the other learning platforms you have access to. I am regularly checking and its great to see some of you have been completing work often. I’d like to give an especially big WELL DONE to those children who have been using the learning platforms daily. I will be topping up the dojos with lots of points!!! Keep it up!!

Whilst you are learning on IXL try to complete the tasks you have been set rather than choosing random activities. If you complete them in order then your skills will build upon each other which will help your understanding more. I've chosen 2 stars of the week Orest and Robert as they have been working regularly on IXL and have been completing the tasks set. Well done boys - 20 dojos each!!

Here are some tips for you to help you with your learning from home:

  • Turn off the TV and make sure you have a quiet space in which to work.
  • Try to work at a desk or a table.
  • Use a pencil to complete any written work and try to present it as neatly as you would in your books at school.
  • Ask and adult or older brother or sister to listen to you read every day and discuss what you’ve read toether. Reading and learning together can be good fun and very rewarding.
  • Share Ipads and tablets with your brothers and sisters. If a sibling is using your tablet then read, write or practise your handwriting until they have finished. Then swap over.
  • When you are working on IXL, aim for 100% on each task. If you don’t achieve this try, try and try again until you have mastered it. Use the information that pops up when you make an error to help you progress or ask an adult at home to help.
  • Ask an adult in your home to set you some times tables, addition, subtraction, multiplication or division questions to help you practise your calculations.
  • Make yourself a simple timetable that will help you organise your tasks- see the link below.

You’ll find lots of work that has been set for you on the website. Go to your class page and scroll to the links at the bottom of the page. Here you’ll find your tasks labelled: Work for Home 20.3.20. New home learning has now been set: 30.3.20. There is also a weekly family learning pack that you can all complete together.

Online Safety

An Important Note to Parents and Carers.

Please be aware of online safety when our children go on the Internet. The link below offers information and advice about keeping our children safe online. It also has a valuable reminder of the importance of keeping passwords secure.http://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/
