Number 12

Date: 31st Jan 2020 @ 3:48pm

We have spent a little longer learning about the number 12 as there was so much excitment and children developing their understanding of the number 12 that we have been looking at it for 2 weeks. The children read the chinese new year story about the animals having a race to decide which year would be named after them. There were 12 animals in the race so we counted them and then placed tham in order that they finished, focusing on ordinal numbers. The children learnt a song about the 12 months of the year. They also used egg boxes to explore different ways of making 10. They finished the week by looking at clocks and recognising that there are 12 numbers on a clock face.
