Home learning
Home Learning
If your child is remote learning from home:
All remote learning will be set daily using Tapestry. All parents completed consent forms and activated accounts in September. If you have any problems accessing Tapestry please do let us know.
Each day there will be one maths, phonics and a topic task planned alongside a daily story read by the teacher and a class worship/picture news activity. This will be set by 8.15am that morning.
Each child has a home learning pack. Please supervise your child when using the resources from it so they don’t get lost. Not only will your child be required to use some of the resources on a weekly basis but this pack will be used in case your child or the class bubble has to self-isolate (if self-isolating daily tasks will be sent to you via Tapestry)
Each pack contains:
- Speed sounds chart
- Set 1 green words reading/writing list
- Set 2 green words reading list
- phonic flashcards
- writing book
- passwords for IXL and Purplemash
If these need replacing at any point please do let us know.
Home learning whilst in school
Every Friday you will receive a reception newsletter where home learning tasks will be set.
Each week the children will be encouraged to:
- Explore the number that they have been learning in school further (this maybe a number hunt or will be in the form of a game)
- One maths IXL task
- Practise reading their sounds and building words that are highlighted on the Set 1 green words reading/writing list
- Share a book at home (children choose a library book on a Monday which is then collected in the following Friday)
Packs will be sent home every Thursday and need to be back in school by the following Monday.
Many thanks for you continued support,
Mrs Carr
